To further promote sports in the community, the Government works with the sports sector, schools and other sectors to promote urban sports that are popular among young people in recent years, including 3-on-3 basketball, futsal, sport climbing, skateboarding and breaking.
In collaboration with the Schools Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau has launched the Urban Sports Funding Scheme in the 2023/24 school year. The Scheme aims to provide opportunities for students (secondary and primary schools) to participate in urban sports training through the provision of direct subsidies to participating schools.
